What we say...

The Tech:

Odyssey’s White Hot face insert has won more tournaments than any other. For the RX they’ve updated it with a softer core and new oval patterned striking surface to reduce initial putt skid and increase feel. You also get to choose either a traditional rubber or oversized Superstroke grip.

Our verdict:

The White Hot face insert offered one of the softest feels of any of the putters on test so we have to say if ultimate feedback top’s your list then it’s a superb option. The small alignment line on the top edge split opinion with some thinking it wasn’t quite long enough where others felt it highlighted the position to strike putts brilliantly. The timeless head shape is simple, unfussy and we thought the silver finish directed focus onto the ball at address really nicely. The putter is beautifully balanced and Chris Ryan particularly holed lots of putts with it. We also really enjoyed using the standard size Odyssey grip after hitting so many putts with oversized models.

Bottom line:

You won’t find many bad putters using this style of putter as they’re not as forgiving as wider body models. There’s no doubt the RX is a quality premium product, its more reasonable pricing should make it a consideration for anyone considering a blade putter purchase.
