● MP This sat nicely, making it easy for me to find my natural position. Impact felt very soft and gave consistent results.

● JC Felt lighter than some but was the most comfortable of the mallets I’ve tried today. It came off the face not too hot or soft, and was easy to strike from the sweetspot.

● JCox I’m not a big fan of fangs but for some reason these don’t offend me. The face didn’t feel springy but the ball ran out well. Nice oversize grip.

● DL Offers a relatively neat and compact footprint for a mallet and feels stable. The strike is on the softer side, boosting the feeling of control.

    I've had a mid mallet for a few years and have been inconsistent with it, never being able to really line up the putt properly. The Odyssey Works Versa 7 has made an instant impact, the fangs have really helped me line putts correctly and it has more weight than my old putter giving it a great feel when swinging, the feel of the ball as it leaves the face is soft which I like and after the first few rounds I haven't had a single 3 putt, definitely recommend this putter.

    I'd been looking for a new putter for some time and tried a few out at various pro shops. I'd always liked the Versa 7's shapes and tried the Works silver version. I wasn't so keen on the silver itself but the putter was good for feel and alignment. Anyway I discovered they did a charcoal version and asked my pro if he could get one for me to try. Brilliant! Love the colour, no chance of glare from the sun! It putts very well for me and I definitely align the putter better due to the 2 solid white lines and the single dotted line on the top. It certainly goes where I aim it and have definitely holed a bigger percentage putts than I used to. The Super Stroke is excellent too, the first time I've used one.The feel is good from the new face but the downside is the mesh. In autumn or winter or even in the wet, its easy to pick up bits of sand and grass etc. in the mesh face. A brush is essential to keep it clean! All in all it is a superb putter.
