The Tech:
A Fusion RX insert blends feel with true roll technology to get putts rolling quicker. Odyssey’s major winning Versa cosmetics highlight alignment whilst adjustable counter balancing lets you set up the putter to your personal taste.
Our verdict:
The #7 head has had many suitors from tour players to weekend hackers because it’s an incredibly stable design. It’s those 4-5 footers that can be card wreckers where the extra stability offered in the #7’s head and counter balancing come seriously into play. Keep everything rock steady and you hole out, to back up the theory all three testers preferred the heaviest weight settings for both head and counter balancing. The simple silver and black head cosmetics highlight where you’re pointing the blade while the back fins highlight the correct putter path which are both a god send on shorter putts.
Bottom line:
The #7’s not quite a classic but its well on its way. Henrik Stenson, Luke Donald and Ian Poulter have all been fans of different models and now with Tank counter weighting the #7 has a new guise. It’s one of the best for picking up balls too.
