What we say...

2011 Review

Unlike TaylorMade’s eccentric Ghost Spider, the Corza is one for those looking for a mallet putter with a touch more streamlining. The white head makes it easier for golfers to align correctly – in developing the putter, TaylorMade learned that 65 per cent of golfers fail to square the face up to target on a 12-foot putt, so the fact that the white face contrasts better with the grass helps remedy this.

Alex loved the simplified look at address, and performed well with it from both five and 25 feet. Chris noted how easy it was to judge putts from the longer distance, while George felt the white putter head oozed class. Despite the slightly smaller head, there seemed to be no let-up in forgiveness too, which helped to produce impressive results. TaylorMade have gone big into the world of white, and it looks to be paying off.

2010 Review

The Ghost is all about making it easier to line up correctly; and the boys felt it worked. Jon rolled in four of his 25-footers. Chris gave it full marks across the board and immediately took to the white head. He also picked up on the solid feel and forgiveness.

Tom wasn’t a massive fan of the contemporary look, but his results suggested the putter did suit him. Mike felt it looked fantastic at address and gave confidence. TaylorMade have continued to smash down technology barriers, and the Ghost is yet another example of their “Outside the box” thinking. Justin Rose used it en route to his win at the Memorial – his first PGA Tour win.

The Taylormade Ghost Putter won a gold award in TG's putters test, which can be found in issue 272.

The Ghost putters took the golfing world by storm last year when they appeared in the hands of players like Justin Rose around May time. The striking white head – designed to contrast better against the green than a black head – is back for another year and so is the circular hole at the back of the head. This has been designed to aid alignment too while the AGSI+ insert negates backspin and imparts topspin on the ball.

These were a big hit on Tour in their first year and we expect another strong year for the Ghost.
