What we say...
We exclusively revealed TaylorMade’s revolutionary new putter earlier this year and have since watched it shine in the hands of a host of Tour winners this season. This new centre-shafted version has just been added to the range which is absolutely packed with technology, including moveable weights and an AGSI+ insert with 14 grooves for better forward spin.
However, the real magic is provided by the unique design and construction with its steel frame and light aluminium core pushing weight to the edges of the club and seriously boosting its MOI. This forgiveness and consistency even on dodgy strikes really showed up within the performance element of our test.
During pre-production testing, the Spider produced huge MOI figures: 92% higher than the Odyssey 2-Ball. This property promotes far more consistent distances on offcentre hits. MWT moveable weight technology offers a customisable feel and the AGSI+ titanium insert gives directional and distance control. The objective was to build a putter that delivers a quantum leap in total performance. The response from the Tour confirms that the Spider is something special. It’s rare to see so many players put a new putter in play so quickly.

In da hole!!!
Having recently acquired one of these putters I have to say Taylormade have produced a wonderous piece of kit. Speed of putts and particularly short putts from 2-3 feet were my nemesis but the Spider allows for a smooth consistent roll. The specially designed face gets the ball rolloing out and the weight doesn't allow the putter face to close or open through impact. Visually it is a joy to line up on the short nerve janglers and my putting has improved in leaps and bounds. Put simply it does what it say on the tin. It gets the ball "in da hole"

What an improvement!!
I used to use a ram putter that came as part of a beginners set. Since using the Spider, i have cut the number of putts by at least a third! The feel and ability to judge distance is amazing and putting from the cuff is easy because the weight behind the putter makes it glide through the grass. I trialled putters from £15 to £200 and once i picked this one up, i didnt put it down. Without doubt my favourite purchase in my bag!
