What we say...

Mike was the biggest fan of the 8885, commenting that he loved the heavier weight of the flatstick which helped him to get his lag putts very close. Jon also thought it felt good, partly due to the solid sound it offered at impact. But Chris couldn’t get on with it, saying he found that the head twisted a little easier than some of the others on test. Tom got some decent results but didn’t like the alignment aid.

The Wilson Staff 8885 Putter is a pretty good all rounded putter and is a heel-and-toe weighted mallet with a heel shaft and plumber hosel.

It features a Visual Plane Differential alignment technology to help position eyes directly above the putting target line for a more consistent strike and a soft polymer VRAD grip with a step-less barrel shaft for improved feel and feedback.

The 8885 also features a dual milled face - The first pass milling operation ensures a flat face for consistency and secondary master grooves are then added to promote forward spin and reduce skid after impact.

The arched shape of these secondary grooves imparts a slight side spin on heel and toe impacts, helping to bring the ball back on line.
