What we say...
Adams new Tight Lies hybrid brings the upside down face and low profile design that has made the brand famous to the most played hybrid on tour. The club is being launched alongside two new Tight Lies fairway woods.
All three models feature improved versions of Adams’ Cut-Thru slots on the sole as well as “Ghost Slots” on the crown. These slots, that were prominently on show in last year’s Tight Lies, are now invisible thanks to a crown-coloured cover.
“While we have always put performance first, and the benefits of crown slots are unquestioned, we understand that the look of the crown slot at address was not to everyone’s liking,” said Adams’ Justin Honea. “So our goal with the new Tight Lies was to create a clean look at address that would appeal to more golfers, without sacrificing performance. With Ghost Slot Technology, we’ve done that.”
The new fairway wood comes in a standard and Titanium version, the latter boasting a titanium face and crown with a stainless steel sole to create the lowest centre of gravity ever in an Adams fairway wood and bring the spring-like effect up to the R&A limit. It’s said to be more powerful, but still playable from all sorts of lies. “The new Tight Lies fairway wood looks better at address than its predecessor thanks to its more subtle-looking slot,” says Joel Tadman, TG equipment editor.
“You can hardly see it at address. It’s compact with a shallow face, making it easy to shape the ball and pick it off the turf.”
