What we say...

Created from 450 Hyper Steel with a maraging steel variable thickness face the Hot Launch is designed for ultimate forgiveness and distance. A low head profile and heavy sole weight help create a deep centre of gravity to help launch shots off any lie with added forgiveness.

Our verdict:

The Hot Launch is designed to be part of a set of hybrid irons so you can buy them all the way down to a 59deg lob wedge, which is very different to every other hybrid in our test. And what that means to you is because they’re linked directly to a set of Hot Launch irons the 3 hybrid is a full inch shorter than some of the competition. Our two amateur testers really liked the shorter shaft feeling by getting closer to the ball it meant extra confidence, and surprisingly it gave nothing up in terms of ball speed or carry distance. The heads a decent mid-wide body option but the quite heavily bulged face (like an old persimmon fairway wood) won’t be everyone’s cup of tea.

Bottom line:

At £79.99 the Hot Launch 2 represents good value for money, but because of the shorter shaft pay very close attention to how you work them into your current set.
