What we say...

Tech:

Wilson say the F5 features a tour-preferred head shape and hot Carpenter 455 Maraging steel face to serve as a perfect long range solution for the feel player. Low and forward sole weighting decreases spins whilst maintaining an optimal launch angle for maximum carry distance.

Our verdict:

Certainly one of the narrowest headed hybrids on test which initially is a bit intimidating. But Wilson say by locating weight low and close to the face they’re able to deliver low spin, which our numbers certainly backed up for two out of three testers. Our longest shots came a little out of the heel which has to say Wilson’s hot face technology is doing a decent job. But there’s no getting away from how both amateur testers struggled for a bit of consistency, which must highlight the F5’s not the most forgiving on test.

Bottom line:

All testers liked the look of the F5’s sleek black head but we reckon due to its smaller size and forward weighting its best suited to reasonably consistent ball strikers.
