What we say...
The CG15 was the preferred Cleveland wedge on test, with Pete and Mike performing well with it in the two scenarios. The product features a laser-milled face that uses surface roughness to help optimise spin, and Chris’ performance with the 56° wedge certainly backed this up.
It’s worth noting that Cleveland are wedge masters, and as you’d expect from one of the best manufacturers in the game there are more loft and bounce options than you can shake a scoring stick at! There are also three glorious finishes – black pearl, satin chrome or oil quench.
So what held it back? Pro Chris didn’t get on as well with it around the green as some of the other wedges, and Pete also struggled a touch from close range. If you’ve used Cleveland wedges in the past, you won’t be disappointed with this. Visit the Centre of Excellence where you can get properly fitted.

Wedge test 2010
The panel loved the fact that one of the pre-test favourites comes in a load of options: three different finishes and 22 different loft/bounce combinations from 46 up to 64!
Once Chris had ironed out a few initial problems he couldn't miss from 65 yards while pro Tom loved the feel, control and spin that the CG15 gave with the Laser-Milled face.
John also noted a slightly higher ball flight than with some of the others as well as the ability to "open the face up" even off tight lies.

Amazing number of options and superb feel from one of the game's great wedge manufacturers. The Cleveland CG15 is the most technologically-advanced wedge the company has ever produced.
Features a traditional player's shaped head designed with a precision laser milled face to maximise surface roughness and spin. Each groove has four laser-milled texture lines between them to maximise surface roughness and increase durability.
The wedges also feature Cleveland's revolutionary Zip Grooves to ensure amazing control. The CG15s take advantage of breakthrough milling technology to create 25 per cent bigger grooves with pristine edges which increase "ZIP" and shot consistency - especially from poor lies.
Each club also has a wider sole width near the heel and narrow sole width near the toe in an S-grind to improves bunker performance without sacrificing versatility.
