Tech:

A progressive centre of gravity means extra control over trajectory, spin and distance for improved gapping between lofts. Tour validated sole grinds are tailored to specific swing and turf conditions. New TX4 grooves create a more textured face delivering tighter tolerances and extra spin.

Our verdict:

Vokey is legendary when it comes to wedges, buying into them you just know you’re getting quality and the culmination of years of experience of working with the very best short game exponents. It should be no surprise at all then two testers (Chris Ryan 11.5K and Simon Daddow 10.5K) recorded their single highest spinning shots with the SM6’s. Average spin wasn’t quite the very best for any tester (27% of full shots hit were over 10K rpm), but nobody could argue they’re not solid across the board. Feel, spin and shot making versatility are first class, which means so long as you know the number to the flag, you’re giving yourself a great chance to hit it consistently close with the SM6’s.

Titleist Vokey SM6 wedge

Bottom line:

An absolutely top drawer wedge, which should be expected as they’re the priciest on test. We love the new groove and CG tech, it demonstrates how far manufacturers are going to improve your game. With so many loft, bounce, grind and finish options you can’t fail to find a perfect set up.
