The Carrick’s Canadian connection

The Carrick golf course, set on the banks of Loch Lomond, has formed a reciprocal partnership with Predator Ridge Resort in Canada, another spectacular course designed by renowned golf course architect, Doug Carrick.

The partnership will allow members of The Carrick on Loch Lomond use of the world class facilities at Predator Ridge, including championship golf course and Golf Performance Centre, which has seen the picturesque Canadian resort awarded British Columbia PGA Golf Facility of the Year on two occasions.

The reciprocal partnership will also welcome members of the Canadian resort to the banks of Loch Lomond to play Doug Carrick’s only UK golf course design.

Ross Whitfield, Director of Golf and Estates at Cameron House Resort, Loch Lomond, commented, “We are delighted to align ourselves with such a renowned resort as Predator Ridge.

“The golf course, accommodation and facilities at Predator Ridge are incredible and the setting in the Okanagan Valley is stunning; very similar to our own on the banks of the loch.”

The Carrick has quickly established itself as one of the UK’s best new courses since opening in 2007, and the members partnership with Predator Ridge will further awareness of the resort throughout North America.

Meandering between the lowland banks of Loch Lomond and the undulating highland heath, The Carrick is set in a stunning area of natural beauty, with views across Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, into the Scottish Highlands.

Despite its relatively short history, The Carrick has already hosted some of the world’s best players having been home to the Ladies Scottish Open on the Ladies European Tour in 2007 and 2008, and this year saw the return of the PGA Cup to Scotland.

Sitting alongside the championship golf course is the luxury Cameron House hotel which recently underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment.

The improvements throughout the hotel have enhanced the enviable reputation of the hotel, and led to it being awarded the Gold Award in the Resort Hotel category at the 2009 Golf Tourism Scotland Gold Standard Awards ceremony.

The 5-star hotel coupled with a roof-top spa, state-of-the-art fitness suite and stunning golf course, combine to make the venue one of Scotland’s finest golf resorts in a breathtaking setting.
