Ex-England football captain David Platt has sent out an open invitation for golfers to  join him at The Archerfield Masters at East Lothian, Scotland.

The event is a 36 hole Stableford competition for teams of 4 players played over both the Fidra and Dirleton Links layouts on May 11 and 12th.

Said former Aston Villa and Arsenal ace Platt: “Archerfield is a highly exclusive golf club available to play by members and their guests only. The courses, clubhouse and accommodation on offer are of the very highest standard.

“This promises to be one of the most enjoyable golf tournaments we have organised,” added Platt who runs his own Major Golf Events company.

The team package is as follows: Brunch on arrival, round one on the Fidra Course, pre-dinner drinks, dinner with wine, entertainment, 2 x twin occupancy rooms, breakfast, round 2 on the Dirleton Course and presentation lunch. Cost is £1,680 per team.

Trophies will be awarded to the overall winners and runners-up plus the daily winners.
