The countdown has started for the official opening of one of the most eagerly-awaited new golf courses in England.

Set in 440 acres of 18th century landscape, the 7,156-yard course at the Heythrop Park Resort, 15 miles north east of Oxford, opens in September this year.

This is ten years after the idea of the Club was first mooted, but no time at all when compared to the rich history of the archetypal English estate on which it has been built.

The course is the handiwork of Tom Mackenzie, of the internationally-renowned golf course architects, Mackenzie & Ebert, who are also currently working on four Open Championship venues – Turnberry, Royal St George’s, Royal Lytham & St Annes and Royal Troon.

A series of official Open Days will be held at the Club during April, May and June, when prospective members can view the golf course and clubhouse, in addition to the new Health and Fitness Club.

Initially, only a limited number of 400 Memberships will be made available.

Those interested should  contact the Club Membership Department on 01608 673488 to arrange a visit.
