Big final set for Trevose

This year’s final of the Single Figure Golfer (SFG) Challenge Tour is to be hosted by the stunning Cornish links of Trevose on October 18-20. 

Following on from last year’s success with the amateurs securing victory over the pro’s, the 2010 SFG Challenge Tour, again in partnership with Srixon, sees amateur golfers from across the country (with a handicap of under 10) attempt to qualify for the SFG team.

The team is captained by Peter McEvoy (former successful Walker Cup captain), and competes against former Ryder, Walker and Solheim Cup players over two days at the SFG Challenge Tour final.

McEvoy, co- founder of Single Figure Golfer, is looking to retain the trophy after beating the Pro Challenge Team at Celtic Manor and whilst he relished beating the pros he knows they will be out for revenge.

He said: “When we reach Trevose I need to know that my team will comprise players who can play at their best when the pressure is on and that is what is required at this level”  

To ensure the team comprises the best SFG’s from club golf, this year sees the introduction of three exciting ways to make the team. In addition to the Order of Merit, there is an exciting Match Play format and the SFG Major providing the chance of direct qualification on the day.
