2-FORE!-1 course of the month

Montrose Golf Links is a true star of 2-FORE!-1 and has started a memorable year – it celebrates its bicentenary in 2010 – by clinching the first 2-FORE!-1 Course of the Month award (for April).

The original club was founded 200 years ago and as a result is the ninth oldest golf club on Planet Golf.

A number of events will take place at Montrose during the year to mark the magical, historic occasion.

Montrose is the home of two contrasting 18 hole courses, the wonderful Medal links layout – believed to be the fifth oldest course in the world – being ably supported by the neighbouring Broomfield course.

The magnificent Medal has hosted plenty of top events down the years including Final Qualifying when the Open was staged at nearby Carnoustie in 1999 and 2007.

This classy links is always in tip-top condition and is the main reason why Montrose carried off 2-FORE!-1s inaugural course of the month spoils. Like the Broomfield course, the Medal is available in midweek for half-price green fee rates for golfers holding a 2-FORE!-1 voucher.

Make no mistake, Montrose is a great place to play and guarantees a memorable golfing experience.
