Booth family’s ace hat-trick

Three generations of the Booth family who play at Pyle and Kenfig, South Wales, have all had a hole-in-one at the fourth hole.

First to register an ace was Don whose son Ian then emulated da’s feat. The Booth family hat-trick was then completed by Ian’s son Rhodri.

These are great golfing times for Rhodri whose steady golf improvement saw him record his first eagle last year.

This rare golfing feat was achieved at P&K’s tricky par-3 4th and its very well protected green. It is surrounded by cavernous bunkers which are deep and intimidating and appear to have the ability to gather in all but the most accurate shot tee shots.

However, the hole-in-one achievement is not limited to the Booth family – Tom Beale, also holed out in the same weekend as Rhodri, but this time on the multi-tiered 6th green.

Tom is Junior Club Champion and is noted for his accuracy. Tom is a member of the very successful and vibrant Pyle and Kenfig junior team which Rhodri has also played for.
