De Vere Club proves big hit

Since being launched by Honorary Captain Peter Alliss in March, the De Vere Club has been widely received by the golf industry and public across the UK.

The De Vere Club aims to make golf more accessible, flexible and family friendly, in an attempt to stimulate participation and frequency of play amongst keen golfers who cannot justify a standard golf club membership, and the extensive uptake of the scheme suggests it is meeting those needs across the country.

Over 2500 golfers have signed up to the initiative in its first seven months, surpassing De Vere’s expectations and validating the decision to create an innovative and forward thinking programme which can cater to golfers needs throughout the UK.

Daniel Hodson, Director of Golf & Leisure at De Vere, commented, “We are delighted with how the De Vere Club has been received by the golfing public since its launch. We knew that there were a large number of keen golfers who were not members of clubs, looking for more flexibility, and the response that we have had over the last six months confirms that the De Vere Club meets the needs of these golfers.

“The standard of golf courses in the membership is among the best in the country, and we look forward to continuing to welcome members of the De Vere Club to all of our venues over the coming months.”

The innovative ‘points based’ membership includes all eleven of De Vere’s venues, which boasts sixteen golf courses across the UK. From the stunning Carrick on Loch Lomond to the European Tour venues at Slaley Hall and Wychwood Park, the De Vere Club offers golfers the flexibility to play at top venues across the country, while still offering all the benefits of a traditional golf club membership.

For an initial payment of £295 members are able to nominate their ‘home’ club, hold a handicap and play in competitions, as well as enjoying a whole host of added benefits including discounts on hotel rooms, spa, golf equipment, food and beverage plus attractive member referral incentives.

In addition, many De Vere venues, including Slaley, Mottram and Oulton Halls, belong to 2-FORE!-1 and offer half-price green fees provided you’ve got a 2-FORE!-1 voucher.
