£150 to play the Old Course

St Andrews Links Trust has announced the visitor green fees for 2012 for the seven courses at the Home of Golf.

There will be a slight increase in the Old Course high season green fee by £10 to £150 while the green fees on the other courses will remain the same. The Old Course shoulder and low season green fees will increase by £5 to £105 and £75 respectively.

The Trustees decided on a modest increase which maintains the reasonable pricing of the Old Course green fee and ensures it compares favourably with many other top courses around Scotland and the UK.

Euan Loudon, Chief Executive of St Andrews Links Trust, said, “We believe £150 represents excellent value for golfers enjoying the unique experience of playing the Old Course.

“Maintaining the green fees at the same levels on the other courses gives our golfing customers access to top class golf at reasonable prices. Our aim is to deliver an outstanding experience for golfers whether they are playing the courses, relaxing in the clubhouse restaurants, learning at the golf academy or visiting the golf shops.”

The application forms for making Advanced Reservations for 2012 on the Old Course, The Castle Course and the other St Andrews Links courses are now available to download from www.standrews.org.uk.

The Advanced Reservations process opens from 10am BST on Wednesday, September 7 when the forms should be emailed to reservations@standrews.org.uk. Applications will not be accepted prior to that time.

From January 7, 2012 the Ballot on the Old Course will change from being drawn one day ahead to being drawn two days ahead. The aim is to make it easier for golfers to plan their schedules in St Andrews and to book golf on other Links courses if they are unsuccessful in the ballot.
