Old Course hotel ends year in style

St Andrews’ iconic Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa has struck gold – winning a prestigious listing in the latest exclusive Condé Nast Gold List.
The Condé Nast Gold List is a particularly special accolade as it the result of some eight million votes cast by savvy travellers throughout the world – and contenders can not rest of their laurels as they are tested afresh every year through the Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Survey.
The hotel’s “killer location” overlooking the iconic Old Course at the Home of Golf is one of many comments that led to gold. “Sweeping vistas across the links to the sea” and the “Jacques Garcia-designed rooms” also won favour with guests.

But it is the service which won special mentions. Once guest wrote: “Courteous, prompt, professional service—from front desk to golf club storage—is just as you’d expect.”
Daniel Pereira, General Manager of the resort, is “absolutely delighted” with the news, saying: “It is an honour indeed to hold a place on the Condé Nast Gold List for 2012, and it is fantastic reflection of the impeccable standards we strive to uphold on a day to day basis. Our guests’ feedback is extremely important to us, so we look forward to The Readers’ Choice Survey every year.”

The new deep relaxation suite added to the resort’s Kohler Waters Spa was also recognised for its quality – as was the infamous Road Hole Bar for its 200 whiskies on offer.
Daniel concludes: “The news is a fantastic end to an amazing year that has seen five star recognition for The Kohler Group both in the States and here in Scotland!”
