Top events at Sundridge Park

Sundridge Park Golf Club in Kent, will once again hold premier scratch opens, the men’s Waterford Trophy and for ladies, the McCart Scratch Trophy.

The Waterford Trophy is now in its 36th year, and is a 72-hole, WAGR and EGU Order of Merit event.

Day one consists of 2 rounds on the immaculate East Course; which, in the recent past, has staged regional qualifying for The Open.

The top 40 players and ties return on day two for 36 holes on the neighbouring West Course, with its narrow tree lined fairways and spectacular views over the City of London.

The 2011 Waterford Trophy will be held on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th August, with a maximum handicap limit of 1

Now in its third year, the McCart Trophy will be played on Friday 5th August over 36 holes on the East Course. The event continues to grow in numbers and it is hoped that this year the event will qualify as an EWGA ranking tournament.

Past entrants for the McCart trophy include former Dutch Internationals, English Senior Internationals, county champions and county team players.

The handicap limit for this year’s event will be 12, with golf vouchers being awarded for aggregate scratch scores, best am and pm scratch scores and also for aggregate handicap scores.

Entry forms for both competitions are available on the Sundridge Park website, www.spgc.co.uk or via the club’s office, 020-8460 0278.
