Dan wins Thailand golf holiday

Birmingham-based golfer Dan Meredith (30) has won a golf holiday for two to Thailand in a competition run by specialist golf tour operator – Solar Golf Ltd.

He visited the National Golf Show which was held at the National Exhibition Centre from April 15th to 17th and completed his entry at the Thailand Golf Tours stand.

Over 230 entrants tried to predict the winner’s score in the Singha Pattaya Open which took place at Burapha Golf Club from May 5th to 8th 2011. Dan correctly guessed that the competition would be won with a gross score of 268 (20 under) – carded by Thailand’s Prom Meesawat.

There were 10 correct entries and Dan’s lucky number was drawn at a ceremony at the Tara Court, Pattaya on Wednesday 11th May.

Dan, a 16 handicapper playing at Fulford Heath GC, is Marketing Manager at Aston Villa FC. When he was phoned by Callum Mackie of Solar Golf in his office, he commented, “There was much excitement in the Marketing and Communications department.  I now have a lot of friends who are keen to point out how good they are at golf. However, I have decided to take my father Robert Meredith with me.”

Dan has won a dream holiday for 2 golfers including return air fares from London to Bangkok, 6 nights’ accommodation in Pattaya and 3 rounds of golf at Championship courses.
