Stars turn out for Close House re-opening

World Number 1 Lee Westwood will be the no.1 attraction at the grand re-opening of Close House Hotel & GC in Northumberland later this month.

Westwood will fly into the north east by helicopter to officially open the refurbished course and state-of-the-art clubhouse followed by a celebrity golf match in aid of The Children’s Heart Unit Fund at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.

‘Westy’ will be greeted by entrepreneur & Sage founder Graham Wylie and Alan Shearer on the lawns of Close House Hotel.

Celebrities set to take part include BBC Sportsman of the Year Tony McCoy, Ant & Dec, Tim Healy, Paul Collingwood, Ben Shephard, Shay Given, Niall Quinn, Clare Balding, Alan Pardew and Patrick Kielty.

The celebs involved will also have a crack at a special hole-in-one competition, taking careful aim at the hole/green sitting in the middle of a lake in front of the swish new clubhouse.
