Leading UK golf travel company Golfbreaks.com has seen a 25% increase in golfers booking 2012 holidays and short breaks, newly released figures highlight.

During September and October, UK golfers planning 2012 group bookings snapped up Golfbreaks.com holidays and short breaks which, for the special two-month promotional period, were supported by a range of great value add-ons, cash discounts and top-quality, free golf products.

Keith Mitchell, Marketing Director of Golfbreaks.com, said: “Our Early Birdie promotion is now in its eighth year and the bookings for 2012 are hugely encouraging.

“The significant increase in group bookings was driven by Golfbreaks.com’s largest market, the UK, which saw a 25% increase in the number of golfers booking trips to England and Wales, a 43% rise for Ireland and 29% more golfers looking to visit Scotland in 2012, compared with the same booking period in 2010.

“The way in which UK golfers have embraced this year’s promotion highlights how consumers can be encouraged to make bookings by offering a wide range of value-driven offers, supported by additional benefits and great customer service.”

Golfbreaks.com, the Windsor, Berks based organisation has also seen a rise in popularity for its top European destinations, including Spain, Portugal, France and Turkey.

It is also seeing signs that new markets, Cyprus, Morocco and Tunisia are beginning to emerge as genuine alternatives to the developed golf markets.”

ABTA-bonded Golfbreaks.com offers over 950 venues to play golf in the UK, Europe and further afield and is one of the golf travel industry’s most innovative companies.
