Ace chef Jaime at Wentworth

This October will see Monte Rei Golf & Country Club’s Head Chef Jaime Perez move to Wentworth Club in Surrey to host a one off gastronomic week for Wentworth members.

A protégé of Ferrán Adrià, and formerly a leading chef in Adrià´s renowned 3-Michelin star “El Bulli” restaurant, Perez will bring the flavours of the Portugal country clubs’ renowned Vistas restaurants to the UK between the 25rd – 30th October.

Perez and his team will mark the launch of the week with a gala dinner at the Club on the 25th October, targeting attendance of around  100 Wentworth members and guests from the 26th October,

Wentworth members will then be able to enjoy lunch and dinner a la carte, together with a degustation menu accompanied by a list of fine Portuguese wines, throughout the rest of the week in The Wentworth Grill. To close the event, Perez and his team will prepare a brunch on Sunday.

Salvador Lucena, General Manager at Monte Rei Golf & Country Club says: “We’re excited to join the team at Wentworth for this gastronomic event. Our team at Monte Rei, under the guidance of Jaime Perez, has created a wonderful menu with a range of dishes to allow Wentworth members to enjoy a taste of Portugal, with traditional ingredients and cooking methods.”

Famed for its Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, the first of its kind in the Algarve, Monte Rei is rapidly gaining recognition around the world as a premier golf and family destination and, since its opening four years ago, has been ranked as the number one golf course in Portugal by Golf Monthly.

This year has seen a number of developments at the resort, with the introduction of two and three-bedroom rental villas, along with the opening of Veranda, which includes a restaurant and bar, tennis courts, pools, gymnasium and spa.
