New Crowne Plaza resort opens doors in UK

The Crowne Plaza Resort Colchester – Five Lakes opened this week as the first Crowne Plaza Resort in the UK. The four star resort is set amongst 320 acres of land in the heart of the Essex countryside.

Located only hour from London City and Stansted airports, the resort is the perfect getaway retreat for both local and international travellers. The 194 room resort has two 18-hole golf courses, 11 meeting rooms, swimming pool, gym and tennis and squash courts.

The resort also boasts  three practice putting greens and a floodlit eight bay driving range while the on-site Spa has a range of treatments using beauty products including ESPA, Clarins and Jessica Nails.

Owned by AB hotels and managed by BDL management, the Crowne Plaza Resort Colchester – Five Lakes is part of InterContinental Hotels Group.

Other amenities include two restaurants: Brasserie 1, serves traditional British and European cuisine and Catch 22 is a fine dining fish restaurant which serves locally-sourced fresh seafood. Guests can also unwind in The Resort’s new contemporary cocktail bar, Bar Lacu.
