New academy opens at marriott tudor park

Head PGA Golf Professional, Jason Muller, wielded scissors instead of a club to officially unveil the new golf academy at the Tudor Park, a Marriott hotel and country club in Bearsted, near Maidstone.

He was watched by 40 keen golfers from all over Kent, who were taking part in the Tudor Park’s annual Golf Society Open Day at the 18-Hole Championship Golf Course.

The Academy Suite features two fully undercover teaching bays, dual video analysis with the C-Swing professional software system, teaching mirrors and viewing screen.

“Players might think they know where they are going wrong, but it is a different thing altogether to watch yourself on screen and compare your swing with golf professionals,” said Jason.

The 110-acre golf course was created 24 years ago by renowned golf architect, Donald Steel, on what was once a medieval deer park.

As well as the new Golf Academy, golfing facilities at Tudor Park also include an undercover practice area, a short game zone and full sized putting green. It has been recognised recently as one of the top three golfing facilities in the country for juniors, beginners and players with special needs, by coming second in the national GolfMark Club of the Year Awards 2012, ahead of 1,100 other golf clubs in England.
