2-FORE!-1 six of the best

With over 1,000 courses belonging to 2-FORE!-1 and offering half-price green fees, you’re literally spoilt for choice when it comes to great value golf. But, once again, here are six extra special 2-FORE!-1 venues…

*Dalmahoy (East Course), Edinburgh – A fine Marriott venue which has a reputation of being one of the best – as well as longest – inland layouts in Scotland. It’s another James Braid work of art and was where America were crushed by Europe’s leading women in the 1992 Solheim Cup.

*St Pierre (Old Course), South Wales – Parkland golf at its best. Set in 400 beautiful acres of wonderful Welsh countryside, St Pierre is a proven host having staged such prestigious events as the Curtis and Solheim Cups.

*Colchester, Essex – Originally designed by James Braid a century ago, the holes run through gently undulating heathland with fast-running fairways lined by firs and oaks to give it a deserved reputation as one of the better Essex courses.

*Hexham, Northumberland – Traditional parkland course on fast-draining land on the south side of the Tyne, Hexham is a tough enough test of golf to regularly host county events – yet, at 6,301 yards from the medal tees, it is enjoyable for club golfers of all standards.

*Gatton Manor, Surrey – Mature and challenging parkland layout which features streams, lakes, and tree-lined fairways, with water coming into play on 10 holes.

*Bushey Hall, Herts – Long-established golf course (it’s the oldest club in Hertfordshire) is set in 120 acres of mature wood and parkland and prides itself on the pristine condition of its 18-hole course.
