2-FORE!-1 best of britain: East Midlands

You’ll discover some great 2-FORE!-1 venues in this region and here are just a handful you must play and visit, specially with a 2-FORE!-1 vouicher!

*Breadsall Priory, Derbys – Home of two contrasting 18 hole layouts with the Priory the main attraction. The Priory is a mature parkland layout and has been thrilling golfers since 1977. Something of a rollercoaster of a track – it is very much up and down and takes full advantage of the undulating terrain, featuring several dramatic elevated tees including one perched high over the road leading into the venue.

It’s an absolute joy to play although in winter time the neighbouring exposed, fast-draining Moorland course takes over and is a better bet. Whatever time of the year though you can take full advantage of good practice facilities and fine accommodation in the historic manor house hotel.

*Morley Hayes, Derbys – A fine if unspectacular all-round venue, unheralded Morley Hayes is nevertheless something of a golfing paradise. The main Manor course is supported by a nine-hole layout – ideal for youngsters and beginners – quality practice facilities and last, but not least, a four star on-site hotel.

*Stapleford Park, Leics – classy stay and play venue just outside Melton Mowbray and offering excellent facilities. The fast-maturing parkland course is always in good shape.

*Scraptoft, Leics – Well established and picturesque parkland course with lots of trees and water to negotiate.

*The Nottinghamshire G&CC, Notts – Formerly known as Cotgrave Place, this quality venue is the home of the Open and Masters courses and is set within
over 240 acres of rolling countryside hills.
