Hawkstone Park Hotel & GC – an outstanding stay and play venue with the Championship course an extremely popular 2-FORE!-1 track.
The Championship layout is a completely contrasting challenge to the mature neighbouring parkland Hawkstone track – it’s fresh and modern and US-style with loads of water and sand to negotiate. Thankfully the fairways are fairly generous and you can regularly let rip with the driver.
* Church Stretton – short-but-sweet and one of the most scenic layouts in England.
Church Stretton, at 1,500ft above sea level, is where golf and nature come together in perfect harmony.
Golfers share this rollercoaster of a James Braid-designed heathland layout with grazing sheep which at least do their best to keep the rough to a minimum though there’s still a forest of fern waiting to gobble up wayward shots.
