An awards night to remember for de Vere

De Vere was recognised as being the UK’s ‘Golf Group of the Year’ for the second consecutive year this weekl, as the annual ’59 Club’ awards recognised the leading golf service providers across the UK.

The strength of the De Vere Golf portfolio was recognised alongside individual resorts at the event which was held at De Vere Mottram Hall, with no fewer than six De Vere venues picking up an award.

Among the winners were European Tour venues Wychwood Park and Slaley Hall, as well as Carden Park, Dunston Hall, Heron’s Reach and Oulton Hall which all won the coveted ‘4-Star Service’ award, the highest standard awarded on the night.

The 59 Club, which sets the benchmark for golf service delivery in the UK, recognises venues for their commitment to client satisfaction through a number of criteria, from phone call analysis to golf course presentation and food and beverage service.

Each venue is marked independently by a panel of ‘mystery’ visitors and members, to ensure that a fair, unbiased and accurate representation of customer service is accumulated.

The consistently high standards across all eleven De Vere venues led to the group claiming the main prize of the evening, ‘Golf Group of the Year’, whilst Dunston Hall also scooped one of the headline awards when it won ‘Best Golf Service Provider’.

As well as being recognised as the leading Golf Group, six individual De Vere golf resorts met the highest standard awarded for individual resorts as recipients of the 4-star service award included: Carden Park, Dunston Hall, Heron’s Reach, Oulton Hall, Slaley Hall and Wychwood Park.

Each of the top three positions in the ‘Best Golf Service Provider’ category were also De Vere venues as the unwavering standards across the group were widely recognised. There was further individual success for Carden Park, which scooped both ‘Leading Individual Golf Sales Performance’ and ‘Golf Sales Team of the Year’ awards,

“I am delighted that my team of committed golf sales and golf operations were recognised as the best in the business by the 59Club,” commented Daniel Hodson, De Vere’s Director of Golf & Leisure.

“We work tirelessly at each of our venues to ensure that every guests experience is a special one and for six of our venues to be individually recognised, as well as to be awarded ‘Golf Group of the Year’, is testament to the high standards that we are striving towards across all of our venues.”

Representing 11 venues and 16 golf courses across the UK, the De Vere Group has set new standards since the introduction of the innovative, flexible De Vere Club membership in 2010.

The membership has welcomed over 10,000 members including Freddie Flintoff, Harry Redknapp and Sophie Horn, who are the clubs ambassadors. Offering members the opportunity to play at all 16 De Vere courses across the UK for an annual fee of £295, the De Vere Club ensures golfers’ memberships reflects their lifestyle, offering value for money, variety and flexibility.
