Vote in the spirit of st andrews award

The inaugural St Andrews Golf Festival being held between March 28-April 1st promises to be a fantastic event and one of the many highlights will be the St Andrews Golf Festival Awards, presented by Today’s Golfer’s sister publication Golf Illustrated.

The awards will celebrate the best traditions of the game from art and literature to photography and golf course architecture and will include the special Spirit of St Andrews Award, which you can vote for here.

It’s a tough call but we’ve helped narrow the field down to just six legendary nominees who are as follows:

Old Tom Morris –  A pioneer of the game, the four-time Open Champion was a St Andrews man through and through.

Bobby Jones – His passion for the town culminated in an Open victory there in 1927.

Babe Zaharas – America’s first female golf celebrity and the leading player of the 1940s and early 1950s. By 1950 she had won 82 amateur & professional tournaments.

Jack Nicklaus – The 18-times Major champion won two of his three Open titles at the Home of Golf.

Seve Ballesteros – Who can ever forget his fist pump when he won his second Open, at St Andrews in 1984?

Tiger Woods – Won the Open at St Andrews in 2000 and 2005, the former by a record 19-under par.

The winner will be named at the Awards Ceremony on March 31st.
