Six more top 2-FORE!-1 money-saving venues where you’re guaranteed a great golfing encounter…
*Linden Hall, Northumberland – A top stay and play venue in the north east. The course itself is a fast maturing parkland and is usually in top condition, boasting a terrific variety of holes including a quartet of classy par-3s and a thrilling double dogleg par-5 finale.
*The Roxburghe, Scottish Borders – The pride and joy of the Duke of Roxburghe (the owner), designer Dave Thomas and Scottish borders golf in general. The Roxburghe is a real class act on and off the course (there’s a wonderful on-site hotel) but the on-course highlight is the signature par-5 14th hole with its sensational viaduct and river Teviot views.
*St Margaret’s G&CC, near Dublin – An impressive and well established parkland track which has staged some top tournaments including an Irish PGA Championship won by Padraig Harrington. The round comes to a memorable end thanks to a demanding par-4 18th – water guards the right side of the final fairway and green.
*Handsworth, West Midlands – At the heart of the Black Country you’ll find a fairly recently refurbished clubhouse which offers excellent views over a lake and mature parkland course.
*Lanhydrock, Cornwall – Pleasant parkland layout with an on-site hotel meaning Lanhydrock is a good base to exprience the region’s main golfing attractions.
*Northop G&CC, Flintshire – Home of a striking Georgian-style clubhouse as well as a superb John Jacobs-designed parkland course.
