St Mellion Nominated As ‘England’s Leading Golf Resort’ In World Travel Awards

St Mellion has been nominated for ‘England’s Leading Golf Resort’ in the World Travel Awards 2013. Although St Mellion International Resort has been nominated in the WTA before, a win in 2013 – in which St Mellion celebrates the 25th Anniversary of its Nicklaus Course – would be the resort’s first.

Set in 450 acres of stunning Cornish countryside, St Mellion International Resort offers a fresh, unexpected alternative to the more traditional hotel and resort accommodation in the West Country, offering a contemporary 4-star hotel and the stunning Nicklaus Signature and Kernow golf courses.

Golfers can enjoy highly competitive rates and two European Tour courses making the Resort the ideal destination for corporate or society golf, as well as for a memorable golf holiday with friends.

St Mellion’s fellow nominees in the category consist of Hanbury Manor, Stapleford Park, The Grove, The Belfry, and Stoke Park.

Stephen Towers, Resort Director, said “We are very pleased to receive this prestigious nomination, it recognises the dedication and commitment of every individual team member to ensure each visitor to the resort enjoys an exceptional world-class service and holiday experience. It would be especially appropriate if we were to win this wonderful award in the year in which we also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of our iconic Nicklaus golf course.”

The Nicklaus Signature Course at St Mellion was recently voted ‘Best In The West’ by TG readers, and St Mellion was named the ‘Best Large Hotel’ in the 2011 Cornwall Tourism Awards.
