Golf trick-shot star Dean Davis will be bringing his full repertoire of skills to Spain’s La Manga Club after joining the five-star resort’s prestigious ambassador programme.

As part of his role, Davis will perform his show throughout the year at the award-winning venue, while he will also promote and represent La Manga Club when performing in the UK, Europe and beyond with the use of branded clothing, signage, online activity and social media.

The entertainer has established himself as one of the leading trick-shot artists in Europe over the last 15 years with his unique show including hitting balls with clubs made from hoses, copper piping, hammers, fishing rods and other everyday household items.

Davis has amazed golfers across the world with his full array of skills, performing his show to packed audiences in countries including America, Canada, South Africa and Mauritius as well as the continent, and he will join the likes of Liverpool FC legend Kenny Dalglish and Scotland manager Gordon Strachan as ambassadors for La Manga Club.

Davis said: “I am absolutely delighted to become an ambassador to La Manga Club and to promote the resort around the world with my unique trick-shot show.

“With a five-star hotel, three fantastic golf courses and extensive practice facilities, it is a must visit for all golfers. Being associated with La Manga Club, with its guaranteed sunshine, will really help my winter training regime to help me develop new tricks and fine-tune my show.”

Gary Silcock, the resort’s director of golf, said: “Our new association with Dean is an ideal match and I’m sure will be of great benefit to both parties moving forward.

“As Europe’s top golf and sports destination, La Manga Club is always looking at innovative new ways that we can promote the resort and bring us to the attention of a wider audience.”

Davis’s addition to the ambassador programme comes at an exciting time for La Manga Club that will see the venue enhance its reputation as Europe’s premier sports and leisure destination.

Within weeks of opening a new Leadbetter Golf Academy next month – the only such facility in mainland Spain – the resort will stage the 2014 Spanish Seniors International Amateur Championship before bringing the winter golfing season to a closing climax by staging the PGAs of Europe’s 1st La Manga Club International Pro-Am from March 7-11.

As well as three 18-hole championship courses, La Manga Club boasts unrivalled facilities as a sports and leisure destination including a 28-court tennis centre and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre.
