The belfry stars at annual 59 club awards

The strength of the De Vere Golf portfolio was underlined at the annual ’59 Club’ Awards with The Belfry, Slaley Hall, and Carden Park, scooping significant awards on the night for De Vere.

The Belfry, host venue for the event, was the big winner after picking up four awards including the honour of being named ‘Best Venue – The Ultimate UK Golf Experience’.

Further awards followed for European Tour venue, Slaley Hall in Northumberland, which picked up ‘Sales Team of the Year’ and the ‘Silver Flag’ Award, while Carden Park in Cheshire was named ‘Golf Membership Team of the Year’.

The Belfry also won awards for the ‘Golf Operation Team of the Year’, ‘Leading Individual Performance by a Golf Operation Team’, as well as the prestigious ‘Gold Flag’ Award, underlining a highly-successful evening for the four-time Ryder Cup host venue, which is currently undergoing a major £30 million refurbishment.

“I’m absolutely delighted, we pride ourselves on our ability to deliver the highest levels of customer service and unforgettable golf experiences to our guests,” noted Daniel Hodson, De Vere, Director of Golf.

“Our Sales Managers and Directors of Golf do a fantastic job and are the driving force behind our success. We have a fantastic team and a set of processes that ensure we provide high-quality services and value for money to the consumer, up-and-down the country. We’re excited about several exciting developments at several of our resorts, in what will be another exciting year for De Vere Golf.”

Setting the benchmark for golf service delivery in the UK, the 59 Club Awards recognise venues for their commitment to client satisfaction through a number of criteria from phone call analysis to golf course presentation and Food & Beverage service.

Each venue is marked independently by a panel of ‘mystery’ visitors and members to ensure that a fair, unbiased, and accurate representation of customer service is accumulated, with the ultimate aim of improving and/or maintaining high-levels of customer service and satisfaction.

Representing 12 resorts across the UK, the De Vere Group has set new standards since the introduction of the innovative, flexible De Vere Club membership in 2010. The membership has welcomed over 10,000 members including Freddie Flintoff and Harry Redknapp, who are club ambassadors.

Offering members the opportunity to play at all 19 De Vere courses across the UK for an annual fee of £295, the De Vere Club ensures golfers’ memberships reflects their lifestyle, offering value for money, variety and flexibility.

All of the venues recognised by 59Club are included in the De Vere Club membership and offer access to some of the best venues in the UK, such as Wychwood Park, Heron’s Reach, Belton Woods, and The Carrick on Loch Lomond.
