2-fore!-1 six of the best

As soon as the snow disappears and courses dry out up and down the country, make sure you book a round to remember at these stunning 2-FORE!-1 venues. Remember you can play all of them for half-price so long as you’ve got a 2-FORE!-1 voucher.

*Gleneagles, (Queen’s course) Perthshire, Scotland – It may be regarded as the third of the trio of Gleneagles courses but the Queen’s is an absolute gem and classic in its own right with some particularly tasty – and testing – par 3s.

*Wildwood, Surrey – an excellent parkland course in the heart of the countryside to the south of London. Boasts excellent greens and well-kept fairways and is the home of 27 holes (Parkland, Lakes & Woodland nines).

*Handsworth, West Midlands – fine mature parkand track overlooked by a recently refurbished clubhouse.

*Leeds GC, West Yorks – Formerly known as Cobble Hall, is a quality 18-hole parkland course situated on the north side of Leeds. Its par of 69 is rarely beaten, even in scratch competitions. Only four miles from the centre of the city, the course has a distinctly rural feel.

*Bushey Hall, Herts – Well established golf course (it’s the oldest club in Hertfordshire) is set in 120 acres of mature wood and parkland. The holes are superbly designed and combine a good and varied mixture.

*The Mendip, Somerset – This venue in the heart of cider country is 960ft above sea level and is the highest point in the Mendips. It’s not long, but it’s tight and tricky and you’ll do well to keep it on the short stuff and to master the speedy, sloping greens.
