De Vere Resorts Scoop Six TG Travel Awards

De Vere have been crowned the ‘People’s Choice’ in our annual Travel Awards as The Belfry and Carden Park headline the honours for the UK’s leading golf resort chain.

They swooped six awards in total, which are voted for by our readers and held in association with leading golf travel operator Your Golf Travel.

Several De Vere Golf Resorts were recognised in the regional categories that make up the awards, including The Belfry, which completed a clean sweep in the East & Midlands category after being named as the ‘Best Course’ and ‘Best Hotel / Resort’ in the region.

De Vere Carden Park in Cheshire won the award for ‘Best Hotel / Resort’ in the fiercely contested North of England category, while further recognition was reserved for Slaley Hall, Belton Woods and Cameron House on Loch Lomond, proving the popularity and success of De Vere Resorts amongst the UK’s golfing population and underlining De Vere’s commitment to service excellence on-and-off of the golf course.

Daniel Hodson, De Vere’s Director of Golf, said: “We’re delighted with the results, as they underline our on-going commitment to service excellence. It is also testament to the great facilities and dedication of the staff across each of our twelve resorts in the UK.

“We set high-standards and pride ourselves on providing a personal service for every guest; it is an honour for this level of service to be recognised by the readers of the best-selling golf magazine in UK.

“There are perhaps several reasons why our venues were so successful, but the recent launch of the innovative De Vere Club membership scheme has undoubtedly created more opportunities for golfers to play the game, at more resorts, and we are proud to be at the forefront of making the sport more accessible.”

Four-time Ryder Cup host venue, The Belfry, was one of the awards’ most successful resorts after sweeping the board in the East & Midlands category. The iconic resort boasts three championship golf courses, including the world-renowned Brabazon Course, an expansive hotel, array of leisure facilities, and the PGA National Academy. Significantly, Lincolnshire-based resort, Belton Woods, completed a 1-2 for De Vere in the region after finishing runner-up in the ‘Best Hotel / Resort category.

De Vere Carden Park also underlined its credentials as one of the country’s premier golf resorts after being named as the ‘Best Hotel / Resort in the North of England’. Its two championship golf courses, The Nicklaus Course, designed by the 18-time Major Champion, and The Cheshire, are accompanied by a stunning mansion hotel, spa and several award-winning restaurants.

The strength of De Vere’s portfolio is further underlined by De Vere Slaley Hall, host of the PGA Seniors Championship for the past five years, which finished runner-up in the ‘Best Golf Course in the North of England’ category, while the 5-star De Vere Cameron House Resort on Loch Lomond was runner-up in the competitive ‘Best Hotel / Resort in Scotland’ category, beating off competition from several other high-profile venues in the region.

De Vere Golf has set new standards since the introduction of the innovative De Vere Club membership in 2010. The membership has welcomed over 10,000 members in that time including Freddie Flintoff, Harry Redknapp, Steve Harmison and Sophie Horn.

Offering members the opportunity to play all De Vere courses across the UK and utilise spa facilities for an annual fee of just £295, the De Vere Club ensures golfers’ memberships reflect their lifestyle by offering value for money, variety and flexibility.
