2-FORE!-1 Six of the Best

You can battle it out in your own US Masters at these leading UK courses which, like Augusta National, are in tip-top playing condition at this time of the year. They’re also in 2-FORE!-1 Golf which means you can experience them for half-the-price!

*Edzell, Angus, Scotland – A lovely heathland/parkland combo plotted amidst 128 acres in the foothills of the Angus Glens and thoughtfully re-designed by James Braid in the mid-1930s.

*Oulton Hall (pictured), West Yorks – Offers 27 holes of quality parkland golf in the form of the Calverley layout which boasts a decent variety of holes and is supported by the nine-hole Hall course featuring a thrilling downhill par-4 6th hole over water.

*Caversham Heath, Berks – A real Berkshire belter and though somewhat underrated USGA-spec Caversham still provides a serious heathland examination, drains well and is always in good condition.

*Carlisle, Cumbria – Cumbria’s parkland pride is located virtually a thumping drive from the M6, but you’d never know – the attractive gently undulating course is majestically lined by an assortment of mature trees.

*The Mendip, Somerset – Sumptuous scenery – you can see seven counties and the Bristol Channel from its highest point at nearly 1,000ft – surrounds this well established rollercoaster of an upland course.

*Kenwick Park, Lincs – One of the county’s finest with a sparkling array of holes, many involving water, and likely to be in tip-top playing condition at this time of the year.
