*Bingley St Ives, West Yorks – Brilliant Bingley has something for everybody: it was partially created by Alister Mackenzie and is part parkland, woodland and moorland. Plus it boasts terrific Aire Valley views.
*Belleisle, Ayrshire, Scotland – Quality James Braid parkland within Belleisle Estate on the outskirts of Ayr with spectacular Isle of Arran views. Watch out for the pesky Curtecan burn which features on several holes.
*Selsdon Park, Surrey – Five- times Open Champ J.H. Taylor designed this undulating parkland course and he used all his repertoire of design skills to engineer a fine test for the ‘thinking’ golfer.
*Cardrona, Scottish Borders – Sitting in the beautiful Borders Hills, Dave Thomas’ 2001 design has matured swiftly and makes the most of some of the Scottish Borders’ most attractive scenery.
*The Bristol, Glos (pictured) – Splendid modern Crown Golf complex which opened in 2000, the main course plotted on 200-years-old parkland with stunning views across the Severn Estuary.
*Kenwick Park, Lincs – Boasts a sparkling array of holes, many involving water, and likely to be in tip-top playing condition at this time of the year.
