2-FORE!-1 Six of the Best

If you’re not sure where to go for a 2-FORE!-1 Golf round let us give you a helping hand: here are six more outstanding courses which all appeared in the last 2-FORE!-1 Top 100 Courses listing and are bound to provide a round to remember…

*Stockley Pines, Middlesex – Formerly Stockley Park, the Robert Trent Jones Snr course has benefited big-time from a recent major makeover including change of name.

*Elsham, Lincs – Often overshadowed by its superstar North Lincolnshire neighbour Forest Pines though Elsham is a fine woodland layout in its own right. Ryder Cup legend Tony Jacklin was brought up and is a honorary member here.

*Church Stretton, Shropshire (pictured) – Arguably one of the most scenic and quirkiest courses in the land is the third highest course in Britain and starts with three par-3s, the opener being an uphill 180 yarder!

*Ballater, Aberdeenshire, Scotland – Guarantees a memorable round and golfing experience in beautiful Upper Deeside, Ballater is a gently rolling heathland track with several holes close to the River Dee.

*West Cornwall, Cornwall – Ancient links – it’s the oldest course in the county – which bursts into life on the back nine which provides bags of fun, excitement and several ‘blind’ shots.

*Windermere, Cumbria (pictured) – Known as a ‘miniature Gleneagles,’ the 120-years-old course is at the heart of Lake District country but there’s not a single sand bunker to negotiate. But there are three 200-yards plus par-3s.
