More fantastic, great value 2-FORE!-1 courses dotted around the country. This week’s top 2-FORE!-1 picks include an intriguing links/parkland combo on the east coast and a classy resort venue in the East Midlands.

*Stapleford Park, (pictured) Leics – Fast maturing Donald Steel design which has hosted European Seniors Tour action and is a relatively flat and open parkland layout with a sprinkling of water features, specially coming down the stretch.

*Moffat, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland – You’ll be knocked out by the stunning southern Scotland views along with the overall condition of this outstanding moorland layout just off the M74.

*Tehidy Park, Cornwall – Although only two miles from the sea, this gently rolling parkland has a mix of open holes, some with strategically-placed streams but many featuring tree-lined fairways.

*Caversham Heath, (pictured) Berkshire – A real Berkshire belter and though somewhat underrated USGA-spec Caversham still provides a serious heathland examination, drains well and is always in good condition.

*Bingley St Ives, West Yorks – Brilliant Bingley has something for everybody: it was partially created by Alister Mackenzie and is part parkland, woodland and moorland. Plus it boasts terrific Aire Valley views.

*North Shore, Lincs – A fine mixture of links and parkland holes, including a ‘blind’ par-3 and a pair of driveable par-4s, are on offer just a mile down the road from the popular seaside resort of Skegness
