Junior captain remembered at Peterborough Milton

A series of events will take place at Peterborough Milton GC, Cambs, on the weekend of April 11-14 in memory of junior captain James Berry who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident last August.

James’s parents have managed the club’s bar and catering for many years and James himself also worked at the club.

The main event that weekend will be the James Berry Memorial Am-Am Invitation Team Event (four players, any combination – men’s, ladies & juniors)on Sunday April 13th (1.30pm shotgun start).

The best two Stableford scores count in the full handicap allowance competition. Entry fee is £20 for visitors and £15 for Milton members, £10 for juniors, and will include a £5 donation towards the Memorial Fund, food (a buffet) and prizes. Entry is restricted to 25 teams of four.

The club plan to expand and re-furnish the Junior Room, and provide a new junior trophy and a lasting on-course memorial.

Milton is an outstanding James Braid parkland layout (pictured) and is widely regarded as one of the area’s best courses.
