Praying for victory in the National Church Golf Cup

The Christian Golf Society (CGS) have announced a new partnership for this year’s CGS National Church Golf Cup 2014. Christian Vision for Men (CVM) are joining with the Christian Golf Society to encourage more churches than ever before to stage outreach golf days in 2014.

The incentive for the winner of each church golf day is to represent that church at a grand finals day to battle it out for the prestigious title of CGS National Church Golf Cup Champions 2014. The final is scheduled for August 31st 2014 in the centrally located and picturesque county of Oxfordshire.

Churches must register as soon as possible and by now later than 31 March 2014 to reserve a place for their winners in the national final.

Churches can register by visiting the CGS website www.christiangolfsociety.org.uk and downloading the registration form.

Cup Co-ordinator Mark Blythe says: “Golf is a great sport for outreach, it’s a simple way to spend quality time with non-Christian friends. Church Golf Days could be just a four-ball or a big event with a meal and speaker. Why not get your church and its friends out on the golf course this season? Hopefully it will stop raining!”

Tips for Churches that haven’t organised a Golf Day before are available and churches who already stage events can just register and send their winners to the grand final. Any queries should be addressed to Mark Blythe at mark@christiangolfsociety.org.uk

Even though we are partnering with CVM, ladies are welcome to enter too.

Banners Gate Community Church from the West Midlands are the reigning champions. The CGS National Church Golf Cup is being sponsored by Richardson Cycles, Leigh-on-Sea.
