Footgolf kicks-off at Leeds Golf Centre

To celebrate a summer of football and the start of the World Cup in Brazil, Leeds Golf Centre has launched a Footgolf course, the first of its kind in West Yorkshire.

The part-golf, part-football phenomenon has been set up on the Par 3 Oaks Course, adapting the course to feature bespoke astro-turf tees and greens to create six challenging par 3 and 4 holes.

Footgolf is a fun opportunity for non-golfers to gain a unique insight into the etiquette of golf as players challenge their strength and skill across the two sporting disciplines. Every strike of the ball counts as a stroke, and like golf, the player with the lowest score will claim victory.

Nigel Sweet, Operations Manager at Leeds Golf Centre said: “With a summer of football upon us, we felt it was right to get in the footballing mood. Footgolf is a great family day out or corporate activity, it’s also an opportunity for those who wouldn’t normally visit our facilities to see what we have to offer.

“We’re encouraging everybody to give this unique concept a try especially as World Cup fever hits the nation. It’s a great way for golfers and footballers to sharpen their skills.”

Leeds Golf Centre became the UK base of the prestigious Leadbetter Academy last year and have reaffirmed their reputation as the home of modern golf with a complete re-design of their Wike Ridge course. With the launch of Footgolf, Leeds Golf Centre are continuing to develop the services they offer to golfers and non-golfers alike.

With a round of six holes available for only £5 and twelve holes being £7.50, Footgolf is a great value family activity this summer. To book your place, visit www.leedsgolfcentre.co.uk or call 0113 288 6000.
