2-FORE!-1 Best of Britain: Kent
Published: Last updated:
Kent, the Garden of England, is a 2-FORE!-1 hotbed and isn’t just about the magical historical links of Royals St George’s, Cinque Ports and Prince’s. Here’s a top mix of 2-FORE!-1 coastal and inland courses which will all take your breath away…
*Broome Park – An outstanding rolling Donald Steel-designed parkland plotted within the impressive historic 268-acre Broome Park Estate. It’s scenic and challenging and beware of the sting in the tail – a right dogleg par-5 18th with the final green well protected by bunkers and a pond at the front. Extremely popular 2-FORE!-1 venue.
*Walmer & Kingsdown – This historic James Braid clifftop/downland layout opened in 1909 and during the Second World War was used as a military headquarters.
You play on the east and west side of a ridge on top of the downs overlooking Kingsdown, providing iimpressive views of the English Channel – on a clear day you can see France 24 miles away!
*Cobtree Manor – Fine all round MyTime Golf venue featuring an outstanding parkland layout just off the M20 and offering excellent year-round playing conditions.
*Tudor Park Hotel & CC (pictured) – Top Marriott stay and play venue with impressive all-round facilities.
*Leeds Castle – Arguably one of the best nine holers around, the course has been significantly changed and improved in recent years and of course is overlooked by the magnificent castle.
*Redlibbets – This superb parkland track opened as recently as 1997 but looks – and plays – as if it’s been around forever.
