ProQuip benefit from weather woes at Birkdale

While the wind and rain battered Royal Birkdale at last week’s Open Championship, there was at least one beneficiary of the awful conditions.
ProQuip, official supplier of rain suits to the European Ryder Cup Team for 2008 and 2010, recorded a virtual sell-out at the Open with fans keen to avoid getting drenched during the penultimate Major of the year.
Richard Head, managing director and chief ProQuip designer, said: “We were extremely busy throughout the week. People loved the new Hydratech suit with its body-configured cut and soft feel, while our women’s lines, including the Liberty, remain exceptionally popular.”
