The golf trolley market has just been given an injection of artifical intelligence as one firm launches the first ever robotic electric golf trolley.
With no need to a remote control the new Shadow Caddy electric golf trolley follows the golfer around the golf course after clipping a transmitter to your trousers or top.
The golfer simply clips on the transmitter, turns on and plays. A simple “follow me / Stop” button is all that is needed to tell the caddy to follow or wait.
And if you’re worried about crashing into things fear not as the Shadow Caddy’s onboard logic control mean it will avoid hazards before they occur.
Safety features include:
A full 270 degree infra-red collision avoidance system to ensure that Shadow Caddy avoids a collision with players, objects or other caddys.
Steering geometry that ensures that Shadow Caddy will not attempt to climb an impossible slope.
Extra safe, long life batteries that are sealed, vibration resistant and leak-proof. A fully charged Shadow Caddy can complete 2 x 18 hole rounds between charges.
