todays golfer test team

We are taking our equipment testing to a new level in 2009 and as part of that, we want to create a dedicated team of readers with a range of abilities to take part in our major monthly product tests during the year.

To become a member of the Today's Golfer Test Team you must:

Have buckets of enthusiasm and passion for golf gear!

Be reasonably fit and able to hit a few hundred balls in a day

Have strong opinions and be able to communicate them

Have an open mind and no active bias towards or against particular manufacturers

 Hold an official handicap

Be at least 18 years old

In return you will receive a special Today‚Äôs Golfer Gear Tester shirt and the opportunity to be in the biggest and best golf magazine in the world! You also get to try the very latest equipment on the market and make your opinion count in our highly respected and industry leading product tests.

To apply, just email TG's Senior Equipment Editor, Sean Ramsdale at and tell him why you'd think you'd make a great Today's Golfer gear tester and what you could bring to the magazine.

Please also include the following details:

Golf Club

Competition is likely to be extremely fierce, so sending a photo of yourself and even a video of your swing might give you an edge over the competition!

Entries must be received by Wednesday 21st January, 2009.

Our equipment tests usually take place over one or two midweek days with an overnight stay between. At least two weeks notice will be given before any test. Locations may vary but The Belfry and their PGA National Custom Fitting Centre, near Birmingham is a regular venue.

All accommodation, food and golf will be complimentary. Travel expenses will not be provided.

The Team

The team will consist of a pool of 16 testers to rotate between individual tests with four golfers selected in each of the official handicap categories:

Category 1 - 5 and below

Category 2 - 6 to 12

Category 3 - 13 to 20

Category 4 - 21 to 28

We will contact the 16 successful readers to arrange a day in early February where the members will meet up for a round of golf with the Today's Golfer Equipment team. Each golfer will also get custom fitted so we have a record of each player's performance statistics and club specifications.

We look forward to hearing from you and putting all the latest gear through its paces in 2009!
