Harrington re-signs for Wilson

Three-time Major champion Padraig Harrington has re-signed with manufacturers Wilson Golf.
Specualtion had been mounting that Harrington’s amazing success in the last two years would prompt some of the bigger manufacturers to reach for their chequebooks but the Irishman has stayed true to the equipment that has helped elevate him to the top of the sport.
The world number four signed his new contract in Ireland today. Exact details of the deal aren’t yet known but Wilson Golf confirmed it was a record for the company.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have finalised an agreement with Wilson for a third time in my career and have great confidence that my Wilson Staff clubs can help me achieve even more victories in the years ahead,” said Harrington, who first signed with Wilson in 1998.
“Wilson is more than just a brand name – it’s a unique mixture of golfing heritage and modern R&D expertise that combines to produce outstanding clubs,” he added.
“I love being part of a tradition that includes the likes of Snead and Sarazen. And there’s no doubt in my mind that Wilson Staff clubs give me a genuine edge over my rivals for the top titles in the game and I’m sure that they have been a major factor in my success to date.”

Harrington’s recent Major success has elevated him to the very top of the sport and there is no denying that he’s now one of the biggest names in golf – proved by the number of people selecting him in their fantasy league teams over the summer and during the Ryder Cup.
Chances are the Open and USPGA champion will be a popular choice again when the winter fantasy league tees off at the HSBC Champions on 5 November.
